Moving on from the doors (we only have the one installed so far, two more to go – sometime…) we are now into installing a new window in the upstairs loo. See above.
Whilst I was doing my work here today, and whilst Paul was home again today, for the 3rd day this week, due to bad weather/choppy seas, I heard noises afoot that sounded suspiciously like construction noises.
The window in the upstairs half-bathroom was coming out. That was this morning. It’s now 3:06 p.m. as I write this and that gaping hole is still there. The actual window unit is still in the basement, and the husband is still pounding and measuring and preparing the opening for the installation of the new window.
I wonder if it will go in today? Or will it have to wait for the next time he can’t out fishing? That would be very unfortunate because these days off from lobstering only come once in a blue moon as my husband gets out probably more than any other lobsterman around these parts. I think he holds the record for getting out fishing for the longest consecutive time period but I have no memory of what that time period was. It was in the hundreds of days, though, without a day off.
So let’s hope the window goes in today, preferably before darkness falls, which is only about 90 minutes away from now!
P.S. Here’s what it looks like at 4:14 p.m. In and nailed in place!
