Cheesy Dog Cookies

Good & Cheesy Dog Cookies

1-1/2 cups Whole Wheat Flour

1/4 cup Corn Meal

1-1/4 cups Grated Cheese

1 Stick Softened Butter or Margerine

1 Clove of Garlic, Crushed

1/4 cup Milk (or as needed)

Pinch of Salt

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

Mix all ingredients EXCEPT for the milk, in a mixing bowl.

To the mixture, add just enough of the milk to form a ball.

Put the “cheese ball” into the fridge to chill for about 30 minutes.

Roll out the cheese ball onto a lightly floured surface, about 1/4th inch thick. Cut into cute dog bone or lobster shapes (or whatever your dog likes).

Bake for about 15 minutes or until firm. (I turned off the stove and let them sit in there for about another 15-20 minutes to harden up).

Makes 24-36 cookies, depending on your cookie cutter size.

Keep high and out of reach or they will be gone instantly!

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

For today’s planned project at Crow Cottage, we made dog cookies. I ran out of their peanut butter cookies a few days ago and they have been nagging me, night and day, to “pleeze make more cookies, Mummy!” ever since. So today was the day.

I found this recipe for Good & Cheesy Dog Biscuits on-line under THIS WEB SITE. There were so many good ones, so I printed out a bunch of the ones I could manage and will make different ones every so often. The only thing I added to my recipe was the corn meal just because I had it and figured it would go OK in these. Kip says yes, it went OK!

Is there a pampered pooch in YOUR life who deserves a treat today? Be a hero, and make him/her something really lovely and nice. Num-num!

Cheers for the Canines of the World,

Kip is a beauty. I love that you made lobster shaped cookies as well as the bone-shaped ones. Funny, I found my bone shaped cookie cutter last week, and have been planning to make the girls some biscuits… thanks for the further inspiration and recipes.

Those are eyes to melt the hardest heart. Dogs don’t need words…just those beautiful brown eyes.

Kip is showing some admirable restraint in those pictures–then again, you were watching!
