I’m working on it. No, it’s not “done” yet. It’s a rectangle on a round table.
So no matter how I put the cloth on the table, long side in front or long side on the sides, it’s not ideal. It needs to be either square or round.
I have some options. I do have the other tea towels that I can add on to the short sides and then hem up as needed. I made this one yesterday and it was hotter and muggier in here than I’d planned on, and I got very tired doing this sewing job. And hot. To me, sewing is a winter job. I don’t enjoy sewing in the heat.
Also, I have made an executive decision about the cup/mug holder. It’s history. I have ordered something else and will let you know about that when it arrives.
Cheers for now,

Bex, how about just making two of the towels into a runner and put it down the center of the table. Then you can put the placemats on either side of the runner.

Oh we don’t have to SNEAK titbits (which is how it’s spelled in England!) to the dogs — oh no, we regularly give them snacks, especially on pizza nights when they get the crusts…num-num.
Also about the table, we actually used to have a rectangular table there:
Paul made that table but it is in the basement holding “stuff” now. Hmmm, might think about switching them – again!

I know a rectangle doesn’t fit well on a round table…like mine. But there is something to be said for having shorter sides where the seats are.
Originally, I was thinking that one could sit down without getting tangled in the tails of the cloth. It occurred to me that, in your house, I would probably be sneaking tidbits to the dogs. 😎
