“The one absolutely unselfish friend that man can have in this selfish world, the one that never deserts him, the one that never proves ungrateful or treacherous, is his dog…

He will kiss the hand that has no food to offer; he will lick the wounds and sores that come in encounter with the roughness of the world…

When all other friends desert, he remains.”

On the upside, that’s one cute Santa dog!

Bex and Paul — it’s nice to know that with every hour the days are getting longer and with every minute, your ailments are receding. Being on the upswing is a good thing and may your upswing be a real honest to goodness sky rocketing giant upswing — of good health and good fortune and good weather and many lobsters at good prices!

Here’s hoping the soreness, the flu, and anything else bad that comes along, gets the boot real fast from now on. I hope Christmas Day, and the New Year, will be good to you and yours.

Dogs are natural hams, that’s why, Eric. Cat’s are too proud to be wearing funny hats!

I am healing but it’s very slow going. I bought a walker with 2 wheels and 2 feet and it’s been so good to have it. Paul has had what we are calling “the flu” judging from his symptoms. It’s on the wane now but he had it bad for a couple of days. He still has a really raunchy cough, though. If we can just get through these holidays without any more disasters or sicknesses, I’ll be happy.

    Merry Christmas!

Ever notice dogs look much less cross than cats do when wearing Santa hats?
