The B’Stards Have Done It Again…(or Have They???)

Typical. The House Republicans have screwed us all – again, and there’s nothing more to say except – typical!

I want a new government!

Has anyone got one for sale? Oh wait, ours has been for sale for a long time and probably that’s what wrong…

It’s over. They have nailed the coffin shut now and we are all phooqued-over-but-good. I need to get my passport renewed…

Totally Fed Up With This Damn Place,

Addendum: The House has scheduled a vote on the straight Senate bill without amendments…amazing…what happened? I have no idea but someone had to have pushed on someone to get this turn-around… praying it works for us, the 99% who seem to be just spectators in our own destiny.

Addendum #2: We did it. They did it. The bill is passed by the House as it passed by the Senate. House Passed Fiscal Cliff Deal…

“The one absolutely unselfish friend that man can have in this selfish world, the one that never deserts him, the one that never proves ungrateful or treacherous, is his dog…

He will kiss the hand that has no food to offer; he will lick the wounds and sores that come in encounter with the roughness of the world…

When all other friends desert, he remains.”

Bex! If you find one on the market (a new government) I’ll chip in. 🙂 Like many of the others who follow your posts, I somewhat live in a no-news bubble. I know that makes me sound like a hayseed, but sometimes the ignorance is such a comfort. There’s just so much that’s wrong in the entire world. It’s overwhelming and so discouraging and horrifying at times.

I guess my primary political rant of the moment is the immediate need for logical and safe gun laws. I wish they’d never been invented. Somewhere near San Jose, CA is the Winchester House. I can’t even believe it myself, but I’ve toured it twice with different house guests. It’s quite famous. The owner went insane after her husband’s death. Her husband invented the Winchester Rifle and she felt incurable guilt for this… all the loss of life because of his invention. Her home was never completed. She continued to build additions – many of them illogical with staircases to nowhere. I’m being sloppy here. I should have Googled it. You should – it’s fascinating. Gah, I’ve veered far from topic here. After Newtown there have to be changes – significant ones.

I’ll gladly swap with you. You come and live in this dump and I’ll go and live in my beloved US of A.

Yes, there are miracles out there in the world of government. Thanks for keeping us posted. Your finger pointing directs me on what to read.

Just when you think you’ve got Congress figured out they go and do something reasonable! 😉

It’s done. The House passed the Fiscal Cliff Deal, we didn’t go over the cliff, and MY TAXES AREN’T GOING UP. Oh yes, I am one of the 99%, no I don’t make $400,000 or more… I live on a different planet from those people. Yay.

  7. Bex says:

I don’t know what happened, who talked to whom, or just what but I would sure love to have been a fly on the wall of Congress today. After they said “no way, Jose” to the Senate bill, 2 hours later, they have a vote scheduled for just after 11 p.m. tonight, New Year’s Day, and they are voting on the clean Senate bill with no amendments. Amazing. What happened? I sure hope it works…
