Daily Photo Shoot – Day 1

I’m going to start, just for February, a DAILY PHOTO SHOOT today.

These entries may be the only ones I do on any given day or I may write an extra journal entry, too, but I am going to try to put in a photo (or 2 or 3) each day, taken around my immediate world.

Day #1 ~ 1st February 2013

The skies over the The Hill (our neighborhood)

As you can see, it’s a pretty nice day out there. We’ve had snow and rain and sleet and fog and wind – the wind being the major occurrence. It felt like a mini-tornado the other day when it blew through here.

Lots of damage was reported in the papers all around the area, and a tree was blown down in the back of the house in the little wooded area. No damage to us and no power loss, but there were many others who lost power because of it. Don’t much like wild wind.

So that’s the state of things here on the first of February, 2013.

Be good and play together nicely until I return.

Walks In Yorkshire

“The one absolutely unselfish friend that man can have in this selfish world, the one that never deserts him, the one that never proves ungrateful or treacherous, is his dog…

He will kiss the hand that has no food to offer; he will lick the wounds and sores that come in encounter with the roughness of the world…

When all other friends desert, he remains.”

Ahh So! Nina… yes, the snow was gone on that day but today it’s all white again! Just a dusting though… nothing like Wisconsin… We just haven’t had any “real” winters in 2 years here on the east coast. The grass has only started browning out this past week.

  2. Nina Camic says:

No, I’m looking at the photos of the day: they look balmy and blustery — March like almost! They don’t look like it’s 0F outside!

  3. Bex says:

Just to set the record straight, the photos of the property at the top of this blog are from a spring-gone-by, not current shots. It’s truly wintertime here and we even got a dusting of the white stuff over the land last night.

  4. Nina Camic says:

I LOVE your daily photo resolve! (It looks like you’re way closer to spring than we are…)

  5. TopsyTurvy says:

Almost looks like spring, though I know you’re nowhere near it.

You’re lucky your dogs are worn out after a walk. Over here, even after a mile or more walking, Puppers just comes in and grabs a toy for everyone to play.

  6. Reenie says:

Ditto to all the other comments. What a great idea. I look forward to peeking in every day.

  7. TS says:

    looking forward to the photos.

  8. mz. em says:

  9. Joan says:

    Love the blue skies!

I also clicked on your trip to yorkshire…Had seen before but forgot how great the photos was..thanks.

  11. Bex says:

Yes, it IS a pretty day outside, especially after all the dark gray days we’ve had. And, the dogs got to go on a walkies with Paul – something I’ve convinced him he needs to do more often, so they’ve been getting out and about, around the ‘hood, almost every day lately. It wears them out good and they are very quiet for hours and hours afterwards…

  12. sandy freel says:

This will be fun to view :-)))

  13. Betty Lou says:

What a pretty day in your neck of the woods !
