Shout-Out Sunday No. 15 – Hillbilly Housewife

Good Sunday morning to you!

The Sunday Shout-Out web site for today, 13 April 2014 is:

Hillbilly Housewife.

In particular, check out this page of hers:

Recipe for Quick Cinnamon Rolls

Oh yeah. I love cinnamon rolls. I almost never have any mainly because I don’t go out shopping (or else I’d have them here all the time) and have to depend on Paul to do the food shopping. I will hesitate to put this type of thing on the shopping list when he’s doing the shopping.

That said, I would like to have an easy recipe for these babies, and this recipe seems to have all the ingredients that I have right here on hand.

When I stumbled onto this Hillbilly Housewife’s site the other day, I was pleasantly surprised at how versatile it was. She has lots of tips on FRUGAL LIVING, which I appreciate. So go have a look round. Sniff out her frugal tips pages, and really, her recipes are downright easy to make and look delicious.

There’s this recipe that I thought was excellent as I use hamburger buns occasionally when making my homemade cheeseburgers:

Fred’s Favorite Rolls recipe

(Her husband is Fred. And what a good idea to make your own hamburger buns! No preservatives or chemicals here.)

Oh, and one more recipe I saw, and it may not be the most exotic recipe you’ve ever seen, but it looked good to me because I am a big cheeseburger fan:

Cheeseburger & Fries Casserole

I mean, c’mon! Cheeseburger and Fries Casserole? What could be yummier?

I know, I know. My cravings do not run in the “healthy foods” categories at all but now and then… it’s worth a shot to see what it’s like.

So there you have it. A simple little site by someone who has done a nice job preparing her pages and offering the rest of us things that are good to know. I haven’t actually looked through ALL her pages yet, but I plan to go back there now and check out some more of them.

This year’s Boston Marathon will be run tomorrow soon, on 21 April here in Boston. Let’s all give a group-prayer that nothing untoward happens this year and that all those hard-working, hard-running athletes can get their marathon run and over the finish line all in one piece and without any nastiness this time.

Hey, it’s spring here at Crow Cottage!

We can all know every thing without ever knowing why.

It’s in every one of us, by and bye.

  1. Loved the window view Bex! No sign of mother earth, hidden under the white blanket, where we live in the country. Glad to see it is coming!

That’s just not fair Sandy… on April the 13th, you do not expect to have to be shoveling snow! Let’s hope it doesn’t stick around and melts on contact with the ground. We are due for some rain today but I don’t mind rain… it brings the flowers, doesn’t it?
