For The Cycle, Baby!

Not only did we win the game last night (which snapped a 7-game losing streak!!), but our Brock Holt “hit for the cycle” during the game! Woo hoo!

For non-baseball-types, that means he got a single, a double, a triple AND a home run at various at-bats during one game. Not a very common occurrence, and big congrats to Brock Holt – the player of the night!

Maybe we’re on a roll ! (?)

Bex

I think I could turn and live awhile with the animals…

They are so placid and self-contained,

I stand and look at them sometimes half the day long.

They do not sweat and whine about their condition,

They do not lie awake in the dark and weep for their sins,

They do not make me sick discussing their duty to God,

Not one is dissatisfied… not one is demented with the mania of owning things,

Not one kneels to another nor to his kind that lived thousands of years ago,

Not one is respectable or industrious over the whole earth.

Bex, it seems that the “talking to” you gave them yesterday had some positive effects. You may have to keep after them. 🙂

One of the great things about baseball is that if your team’s struggling you can still find some pleasure in the accomplishments of individual players. There’s always so much going on with baseball.
